The PPH Foundation, under the leadership of Dr Kireki Omanwa, Co-Lead, convened a strategic debrief and planning session in February 2026 with the The Kenya Girl Guides Association to review the outcomes of the End PPH Run held on 28 September 2025 and strengthen ongoing collaboration. The engagement focused on assessing achievements, addressing key challenges, and identifying opportunities to scale youth participation in maternal health advocacy.
The session highlighted the critical role played by the Girl Guides in mobilising participation across the country. Their efforts significantly contributed to the growth of the run, with participation increasing from 1,200 in 2024 to over 15,000 in 2025. This marked a major milestone in expanding community engagement and awareness on postpartum haemorrhage.
Building on this momentum, the Foundation and the Association led by the National Executive Officer Betty Oloo, reaffirmed their commitment to deepen collaboration through structured advocacy initiatives, including PPH awareness programmes targeting young people. The partnership continues to position youth as powerful champions in advancing safer motherhood.
