INTRODUCING VIRTUAL REALITY IN MATERNAL HEALTH CARE TRAINING

Activity Description

The PPH Foundation introduced the use of Virtual reality in maternal care to a cohort of pre-service doctors, midwives and nurses during the inaugural PPH School held on 29 May 2026. Facilitated by Prof Obimbo & Dr Benjamin Njihia, the practical demonstration introduced participants to digital platforms that enable healthcare professionals to remotely support procedures such as obstetric emergencies involving postpartum haemorrhage management, mentorship, and specialist guidance across different locations. The session highlighted the potential of technology to strengthen healthcare training, collaboration, and emergency maternal healthcare support systems.
