The PPH Foundation continued to sensitize medical personnel on the ROAMING Blood Initiative during the inaugural PPH School held on 29 May 2026. This is an innovation of the PPH Foundation aimed at addressing the problem of blood shortages by enhancing efficiency in donor mobilization and testing, blood processing, availability and access as well as hemovigilance, leveraging technology. Facilitated by Prof Julius Ogeng'o, the session focused on the importance of strengthening blood systems, promoting voluntary blood donation, and improving emergency preparedness in reducing deaths associated with postpartum hemorrhage. Participants were introduced to ongoing efforts aimed at supporting sustainable blood access systems and strengthening emergency response for women experiencing severe obstetric bleeding.
