The PPH Foundation advanced discussions on strengthening sustainable blood donation systems through the ROAMING initiative. The Foundation highlighted the need to move beyond emergency appeals for blood when supplies run low and instead promote consistent, voluntary donation throughout the year. Through stakeholder engagement, the Foundation explored approaches for building reliable donor networks, strengthening mobilisation, and improving coordination around blood collection and availability. The discussions also emphasised the importance of linking blood donation efforts to the broader prevention and management of postpartum haemorrhage. Through ROAMING, the PPH Foundation is supporting a shift towards proactive, organized and sustainable blood donation to improve access to lifesaving blood for mothers.
