The PPH Foundation, through the ROAMING initiative, engaged stakeholders on strengthening blood transportation, storage and cold-chain systems to ensure collected blood reaches health facilities safely and on time. The discussions explored opportunities for partnerships and innovative approaches to address challenges in transporting and storing blood under appropriate conditions. The Foundation emphasised that effective blood donation extends beyond collection, requiring reliable systems to preserve blood quality and facilitate timely distribution to facilities. By bringing partners together to examine these gaps, the Foundation is supporting a more coordinated approach to blood logistics and contributing to stronger systems for ensuring lifesaving blood is available when women experiencing postpartum haemorrhage need it.
