The PPH Foundation advanced the knowledge of PPH School Cohort III participants on blood collection and security on 4 September 2026 at the University of Nairobi, Chiromo Campus. The activity brought together participants and key stakeholders from government, blood transfusion services, technology and partner organisations to deepen understanding of the blood transfusion ecosystem and the roles of different actors. Discussions led by Prof Julius Ogeng’o covered blood collection, donor mobilisation, processing, storage, transportation and utilization, alongside innovations such as automated apheresis and green cold-chain technologies, including mobile solar-powered solutions. The activity also highlighted opportunities for participants to support blood donation and mobilisation efforts within their institutions and communities.
